Lafourche Parish’s District Report Card for 2015–2016 indicates that 66% of the 14,714 students enrolled in our parish’s schools are classified as economically disadvantaged.

​

In 2016, Lafourche Parish’s graduation rate was 77%, resulting in a one in four drop out rate. 

​

52.7% of students in Lafourche parish receive free lunches because their families’ income is below the poverty level. And 7.5% of students receive lunch at a reduced price.

​

When it comes to education, Louisiana ranks 46th in the nation.

​

Only 26.9% of children under the age of five are enrolled in preschool.
